Kaletepe HEPP is located in Tortum, Erzurum and the electricity generation was started in July 2009 with the installed capacity of 10.8 MW. The HEPP consists of 5 diversion weirs, 3 siphons, a head pond, a powerhouse and 800-meter penstock and 11 km water transmission line. As of the date of, the longest siphon was constructed in Turkey within this project. KAYI Construction is the investor, developer, contractor and the operator of the Kaletepe HEPP. Despite having difficult climate and construction conditions, KAYI Construction successfully completed the design and built EPC turn-key construction within 9 months. From July 2009 onwards, Kaletepe HEPP continues to generate 39 GWh of electricity per year.
